Dear Members
of the Sensoria Family,
It has taken us 10 days to be able to sit down and
put into words what our last night meant to us. What
can I say the final Journey and last night at Sensoria
was something we will remember for the rest of our
lives
Firstly apologises to any of you who couldn’t
get in. The night reached capacity at 10.30 and then
was one out one in so those who hung around eventually
did get in and were part of what became the best night
Sensoria ever had. The atmosphere was electric with
everyone smiling, dancing and cheering and really
up for a good party. To all of you who made such an
effort to dress up, thank you, you all looked superb.
The DJ’s performed at their best whipping the
crowd into a frenzy so thanks once again to who are
in our opinion, the best resident DJ’s in the
country, ANDY BAGGUELY, PETE BROWN AND KEITH HURLEY.
The book of memories was a pretty emotional read for
us as it contained so many nice memories of yours
and made the last 6 years so worthwhile. We have selected
a few memories to show you but wont mention names
so as not to embarrass you
“So many good nights to remember, so many friends
made & the place I met the love of my life”
“A
while before I found Sensoria my life had hit rock
bottom, I was hanging around with the wrong people
and had some awful boyfriends. One night, one of you
found me crying at the edge of the dance floor. I
was whisked away and introduced to a lovely crowd
of people who were so nice to me that I cried even
more! I had never received so many cuddles, smiles
and tenderness in all my life. From that day on the
loneliness faded from my life. Thank you
“
So many memories of this club. I came here as a 18
year old college boy venturing into clubland for the
first time. Since then I have been to many clubs across
the country, seen many different DJ’s and met
many diverse people. But out of every club I’ve
been too, Sensoria always had a special place in my
heart. The buzzing atmosphere, the smiling faces,
the flashing lights! Just want to say thanks for six
amazing years”
“ To make an impression on anyone’s life
and be remembered is an achievement in itself. Take
pride in the fact that you made an impression on many
people’s lives.
“
Some of the greatest moments of my life were spent
here at SENSORIA”
“We
were lost and searching for a home and then we found
SENSORIA. Wish we’d found you sooner! Met some
special people and always left with a smile on our
faces. Thank you. Gonna miss you and everyone so much”
“ I met all my best friends here at SENSORIA”
“What
a brilliant night your finale was! The whole evening
was fantastic,
the music, and the dancers, the techno pharaoh of
course and everyone looked like they were enjoying
the whole event. Our entire crowd said how much they
enjoyed that night.... you cannot end it there! You
should at least be considering revisiting The Journey
that is Sensoria…. Even if it’s just a
couple of times a year, you know it makes sense!!!
I just wanted to say its been a fantastic journey
with you all, I remember Wolverton which, for me set
the seed for alternative dance nights, I’d never
been to an event so chilled and accepting of every
type of 'clubber'. It didn't matter if we were there
in jeans and tee shirt or full techno gear, everyone
was welcome. Then following your break, how fantastic
when you started back up again at Bar Central, we
were all fuelled up and
ready for the next leg of the journey. So don’t
say it’s the end, we are all
still travellers and we are not ready for our journey
to end yet...”
ATLANTA ENTERTAINMENT DANCERS
“ We have danced at numerous clubs and events
throughout the country but have never danced where
the atmosphere was as amazing as it was tonight. You
have the best crowd of clubbers I have ever known.
Amazing!”
And that
to us says it all. It is you our clubbers who helped
to make Sensoria great and so very special. Your friendliness,
thoughtfulness, happy smiling faces have brought others
and us so much joy. You brought our dance floor alive
and have provided us with the accolade of being called
in the paper last week “ the most people friendly
promotion” This a true triumph for us as this
is what we set out to achieve and we did it. Sensoria
was never about making money and not just about the
music but about providing a place where people could
meet up, dance and have some fun with like minded
people. Our last night was proof to us that we had
succeeded in making our dream a reality. Not many
people get the chance to do that and so we thank you
all from the bottom of our heart.
Many more wonderful things were said so thanks to
you all. If you were not able to put your entry into
the book and would still like to do it, then just
email me your name and memory to trish@sensoria.co.uk
and I will put it in for you.
The photos of the night are now available on our newly
revamped website. Many thanks to Martin Mc Dermott
for all the work on the website and who has designed
this new website as a special present for us both
to remember Sensoria. Choked! Check out his amazing
work at www.sensoria.co.uk
The emails keep flooding in, is this really the end?
Can’t you do the boat? Please can we have a
7th birthday party? The answers is for the moment
we have no plans to do anything else but if the right
opportunities came up to do something special, well
we just might dust down the backdrops.
So it is Goodbye for now and thank you all for the
happy memories.
With all our love always and forever,
Trish & Jim xxxxxxx
