There isn't much left in the way of clubs now that Ultra Vegas has departed Milton Keynes Empire venue (because it's going to be turn into a health farm, or something like that). Fortunately, though, Sensoria has well and truly arrived..

Okay, Sensoria is a small club, it only takes 350 clubbers to fill Bar Central. But the atmosphere hot's up early, and the feeling is truly underground as everyone dances together as "one big family". By 9.30pm the dance floor on this occasion was full.

The promoters used to do house parties but have now put in a serious amount of effort to provide clubbers with this heavenly monthly night so good, you'd except them to be in a club like Godskitchen or Gatecraster, not in a small venue in Milton Keynes.

There were only two DJs on the decks all night, but my God! they were good. With Keith Hurley doing the warm up and Sparky closing, these two lads pumped out some of the best house I have ever heard. In fact, they were so good, I tried to blag some of their records and CDs from them, for my own personal collection. If you're from MK, or live nearby, then you should get down to this this one. And even if live miles and miles away, it's certainly worth checking out: trust me. Contact MONKEY BUSINESS on tel: 01525 240741 for more details.

Since the demise of Ultra Vegas, Milton Keynes and her concrete cows had pretty much disappeared from the clubbing map. Until now. Sensoria, the monthly night at Bar Central, provides the real excuse to head for the concrete jungle once again.

Those in the know flock to the club early. Christ, the dance floor was half full by 9pm and chocca by half past. When was the last time you witnessed that in a club? Then again, there aren't enough hours in any given weekend to listen to the DJs delightful array of tunes.

The warm up DJ, a relative unknown called Keith Hurley, had the punters swinging from the rafters with a perfect set of favorite tracks from last year. The bloke was excellent. Charged up, he danced around in the DJ box, smiling and laughing, impressing his enthusiasm on the punters. Watch out for him in the future. Not to be outdone Sparky, who followed was just as good, they promoters Jim and Trish striked gold when discovering these two.

If you have been to Bar Central before don't be put off. The Sensoria lot, despite working on a shoestring budget, manage to transform the club with gorgeous Egyptian props and drapes which wouldn't look out of place in the likes of Godskitchen, Bakers or Gatecrasher. At Sensoria, putting on a good night is more important than making a fast buck and that's how it should be.

Their basic ethos is not lost on the clubbers who come early, stay late and love early minute. The atmosphere resembles that of the original house parties of the late 80's, early 90's, and if you fancy a break from the big clubs check this one out.
